An AI tutor built for a national curriculum — and run in-country.

SonzaSchool is a learning platform we built and run: an adaptive, AI-powered tutor aligned to a country's own school curriculum, online-first and able to work offline. We build the platform; each country deployment is delivered together with a local partner organization. It's live today in Tanzania and South Sudan.

What it is

A tutor that knows every subject — and the local syllabus.

Not generic edtech. SonzaSchool teaches to the country's real curriculum, in the country's languages, and adapts to each learner — the kind of platform we build for our consulting clients, proven on our own product first.

Curriculum-aligned

Built on the national syllabus

Content maps to the country's official curriculum and exams, not a one-size-fits-all catalogue — so it's genuinely useful to teachers, students, and ministries.

Adaptive

A tutor for every learner

A diagnostic finds where a student is, then daily practice and an always-available AI tutor move them forward at their own pace, across every subject — academic and vocational.

Works offline

Online first, offline when needed

SonzaSchool runs online, and where a school's connectivity can't be relied on, the content loads onto a Hyracbox Edge device so learning continues without the internet.

Engagement

Keeps learners coming back

Progress, streaks, and social learning are built in — the difference between a tool that's installed and one that's actually used, week after week.

Credentials

Something to carry and prove

Learners earn credentials they keep — evidence of what they've mastered that means something beyond the app.

Languages

In the languages people learn in

The platform is localized to each country — Kiswahili and English in Tanzania, English in South Sudan — because a tutor only helps in a language the learner reads.

How we deliver it

We build the platform. Local partners make it work on the ground.

Technology dropped in from outside rarely lasts. So SonzaSchool follows a model we believe in for the whole of development work: we build and run the platform, and each country deployment is delivered together with a local organization that knows the curriculum, the language, the schools, and the families.

We build

The platform and the AI

We design, build, and run the software, the AI tutor, and the offline delivery — to the same engineering standard we hold everything to. One platform, localized per country.

Local partners run

Delivery in-country

A local partner organization leads on the ground: curriculum mapping, teacher and school relationships, language, support, and trust. They own the local relationship; we keep the platform working behind them.

Together

Built to last locally

The result is capacity that stays in-country, not a pilot that leaves when the funding does — local ownership with a platform that keeps improving.

Where it's live

Two countries, two curricula, one platform.

Each deployment is the same platform, re-localized to the country's own education system.
